Back when the game first came out, most players would leave Pre in the 3-7 level range. Over the years, some players developed an attachment to Pre, and made characters dedicated to staying there and leveling up, a months-long, tedious process. Some players eventually got to level 20, and word spread.

Eventually, after more people started doing this, Anet even introduced a title for players who reach level 20 in Pre.

It's one of those funny niche things that players developed, and it's the reason you're seeing so many players in Pre above level 10 or so.

edit: I have been ninja'd!

I'm a new player too. Funny thing on my first run through that mission I was able to reach the wall quite easily to beat the Charr there, but I hadn't found those four armor pieces for the ghost (can't remember his name). So, I went out and repeated the mission a couple of levels later, did the bonus, started running to the wall, but failed EVEN with the advantage of a sprinting skill I'd picked up.... how'd THAT happen?

One time when there were no Charr nearby, I was running over the bridge, I kept hearing thunk, thunk, thunk, and was taking small amounts of damage till I eventually died. Odd!

You were probably lagged out and were not actually moving. That happens sometimes - you think you are running along but are still taking damage and (if you don't die) you suddenly pop back into the midst of a battle.

Yes, But I defenately haven't got the patience for that death level stuff. It took me forever to get 50 Iris flowers to get the baggie from the Yak. Cause people told me the same bag would cost 2K in post searing. I just found a collector who trades it for a couple of simpel drops. Same as in pre searing.

You play... you learn...

Well you would learn more if you are NOT listening to what people around you do.

Most likely they are grinding something because they did all there is to do for them, you on the other hand should experience the gameplay.

And DO watch the cutscenes (that way you would have knows that you should run in that mission).

The Small Equipment Pack you get from Prof Yak in pre is this one. In post, as is stated on the wiki page, you can pay 2.5K gold for it or trade 5 Silver Zaishen Coins and 50g for it. The Zaishen Coins can take a while to accummulate.

You sound like you are confusing it with the Belt Pouch. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Belt_Pouch
